We Had Better Watch the Sky

Over two thousand years ago, people were just living their lives. The carpenters were going about their woodwork. The tentmakers were building their tents. The merchants were selling their goods. The scribes were interpreting the laws of Moses.

And they were all waiting.

For a prophesy.

Probably didn’t seem real to them. After reading and learning and hearing about it for so long, talk of the Messiah was probably more like a faraway dream. Sure, they believed He was coming. It was foretold.

But they didn’t know when and they didn’t know how—and after watching for so many years, would it ever even happen?

But one night, when a single star shone bright in a Bethlehem sky, the prophesy was fulfilled. The Messiah came. The earth was forever changed—because God kept His promise and the people now had a Saviour.

Today, people are just living their lives. The bankers are counting their money and cashing checks. The waiters and waitresses are taking orders and serving plates. The business men are scheduling meetings. The computer gurus are clicking buttons. The preachers are studying and preparing sermons.

And we’re all waiting.

For a prophesy.

Sometimes it doesn’t seem real. After reading and learning and hearing about it for so long, the second coming feels faraway to countless Christians. Oh, they believe the trumpet will sound. Of course they believe. Doesn’t the Bible say so?

But the reality…the reality, friend, is what sometimes slips away from us. Because any day, any morning or night, Jesus is coming back. Prophesy will be fulfilled. The trumpet will blare. The saints will rise—and we’ll leave this world behind us, because Jesus promised He’d return for His bride.

So don’t forget, friend, when you’re going through your daily routine and driving to work and living this temporary life…

Jesus isn’t just a story we read about in the Bible. He’s living. He’s coming back for us. And this thing isn’t over by a long shot.

So start watching the sky, friend. It could be any day.

Amen Hannah!! The wise will understand what is unfolding before us IN THESE LAST DAYS!!

Daniel 12:10..Many will be purified, made spotless and refined, but the wicked will continue to be wicked. None of the wicked will understand, but those who are wise will understand.

Daniel 12:10 is connected to Daniel 11:33-35!!

Daniel 11:33-35..“Those who are wise will instruct many, though for a time they will fall by the sword or be burned or captured or plundered. When they fall, they will receive a little help, and many who are not sincere will join them. Some of the wise will stumble, so that they may be refined, purified and made spotless UNTIL THE TIME OF THE END, FOR IT WILL STILL COME AT THE APPOINTED TIME.

        Amen!!
And what a comfort to know that the time is appointed. Fixed. Unchanging. No matter what craziness and chaos is going on here on earth, nothing will be able to stop what God has decreed will happen.

No one knows the day or hour … that came home to me in a vivid way several years ago. I was going out to the backyard to light the grill for dinner. It was a clear, warm summer day. As I stepped out the door, I hear a loud, clear trumpet call. Just one note. I immedidately looked up! And I thought, this is how it’s gonna happen! We’re gonna just be going about our business, not even thinking about it, and BOOM – Jesus will be here.

I have no idea where that trumpet note came from, but it happened and I’ll never forgot it.

    Come quickly, Lord Jesus!
